In the fall of 2020, TradeSpace’s co-founders Jordan and Daniel were recognized in Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 YYC Class of 2020.
Avenue Magazine is one of Calgary’s most read magazines. Top 40 Under 40 features entrepreneurs, inventors, artists, and researchers around the city. It is a way to celebrate young people doing amazing things in their industries. It is meant to shine light on those building the future of the city.
It was an incredible honour for TradeSpace to be recognized as the company was only two and half years old when the co-founders were recognized in the magazine. This feature created interest around the brand and got more people through the door!
Despite the pandemic in 2020, TradeSpace membership grew over 120% compared to 2019. TradeSpace’s co-warehouse solutions made it possible for companies who were downsizing or those who were looking to turn their passion project into a full time gig to find flexible workspace.
At the time of the announcement, TradeSpace was home to 60 companies and members within TradeSpace had hired over 40 new employees. It was estimated that over $15 million has been contributed to the local economy. That number is expected to grow as TradeSpace’s membership grows. Six months later TradeSpace is now home to over 80 companies including Partake Brewing, Amborella Floral, and Little Tucker.
Daniel said it was an honour to be recognized among the selected group of people.
To be selected out of hundreds of applicants was an exciting time for TradeSpace. Jordan and Daniel were also able to participate in a radio interview discussing the Top 40 recognition and sharing more of TradeSpace’s mission.
